Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s this very personal moisturizer.
Supermodel Hailey Baldwin recently revealed that one of her favorite skin care products is a face cream that not only costs $1,400 but is also infused with her own blood.
Um…what?
In an interview with PopSugar, Baldwin said she is “nerd about the science of skin care and health.” She also gushed about her love of the MC1 Blood Moisturizer made by German dermatologist Dr. Barbara Sturm.
So what exactly is this “weird blood cream?”
According to Marie Claire, in order to get the cream, you have to fly all the way to Germany for an appointment with Dr. Sturm. During the appointment, Dr. Sturm will take a sample of your blood, separate the plasma, incubate it to increase its “healing properties,” and then mix it into a shea butter based cream.
Apparently, the plasma rich moisturizer is supposed to reduce inflammation and help with healing tissue.
Wearing a face cream made with your own blood sounds a little extreme…and gross.
But hey, if you have an extra $1,400 lying around and your willing to do anything to achieve the best glow of your life, it’s worth a shot, right?
