Puffy eyes, swollen face, flushed cheeks. Hangovers do not look or feel very pretty. Most people spend a lot of time and money trying to cover up their hangovers. But a new trend is circulating around Asia where women try to purposely create a hungover look. Why? I have no idea.
One of the main components of hangover makeup is under eye puffiness. Koreans refer to it as “charming fat” and it a sign of youth and happiness. To create this look, women apply dark eyeshadow in their bottom eyelid crease. This makes the lid seem more 3D and puffy.
The second component is under eye blush. Instead of applying blush to the apples of the cheeks women are putting it in the area under the eyes. It gives off a sickly, flushed impression, but I guess that’s the point. Then smudge on some eyeliner and voila! If only my hangovers looked that good.
