Nostalgia can be a powerful thing. It can blind you and make you think fondly of old fashion and trends that have aged like milk. But sometimes, those old trends pair well with our current trends, thus becoming a match made in heaven. We’ve compiled a list of trends that NEED to come back and other trends that NEED to stay dead.
1. Apple IBook G3 Clamshell Laptops
Let’s be honest, Apple needs more color in their products. iPhone colors don’t count because 90% of people get phone cases. Work would be a lot more fun if I was using a lime green MacBook instead of a gray one.

2. Making Mix CDs For Friends
Nowadays, people make playlists for each other. But there’s just something special about your friend handing you a CD that they decorated with sharpie marker. Looking at my old CDs is like looking at a scrapbook.

3. Cereal Straws
Unfortunately, these didn’t even make it out of the 2000s. But with everyone switching to reusable straws, I think these could make a comeback.

4. Butterfly Clips
Oversized barrette hair clips have been back in the fashion world for a couple of years now, so these butterfly clips could easily become the next trend.

5. Brown Walls
As long as we don’t go back to Tuscan style decor, I would love to see dark brown walls mixed with the current natural, soft wood decor.

1. Corset Tattoos
No hate to anyone who has these, but I think these tattoos deserve an upgrade before making any sort of comeback. Corsets are pretty trendy right now in fashion, so constantly on edge about these coming back.

2. Map Quest
Having to read these when you don’t have someone riding in the passenger seat should probably be illegal. Mine directions were usually multiple pages as well. Oops.

3.
Fun fact: Miralus Healthcare, the creator of Head On, got in trouble for claiming that this product could quickly cure headaches (something that hadn’t been proven). So to avoid any more false advertising claims, their commercials never said what the product does. Hence, the phrase “apply directly to the forehead” being repeated over and over.

4. Sequin Bags
With how popular sequins have been for the past couple of years, I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people try to revive these. For everyone’s sake, I hope these cheaply made purses never see the light of day again.

5. This Type of Shag Haircut
AKA the Beiber haircut. I chose a picture of Zac Efron because even though it’s been over 10 years since High School Musical 3, it’s still jarring to me when I see Efron with his current hairstyle. In my mind, he’s the only one that’s allowed to have this look in the 2020s.
