You’re probably thinking, ‘What the heck? Another eyebrow trend?’ Yep, that’s exactly what we thought too!
Basically, this trend is as easy as it sounds; It’s an eyebrow mimicking the look of a feather.
The irony in all of this is that it was started as a joke. Stella Sironen, a Finnish Instagram user under the IG name @stella.s.makeup, started this idea of #featherbrows. She said she ‘joked about starting a trend in the caption of my first picture, not about the actual makeup.’ And to all of those that strongly dislike this new type of brow art, Stella went on to say: ‘I know that brows are a sacred part of the face but consider this – there are types of lip art and eye art and tons of different forms of creative makeup, why is experimenting with brows so strange?’
But, the Internet takes nothing lightly and will make a trend out of something as simple as ‘pencil shreds.’
It was going to happen!
This is Stella’s Instagram photo that started it all!
Stella’s Influence Has Trending Instagrammers All Over Trying It Themselves
#featherbrows is real, everybody! So real, that it has caught on and spread throughout the world of Instagram. And you know what that means, trending/popular Instagram users and fellow makeup addicts hopped on the bandwagon and decided to try this trend, for themselves.
Social Media Influencer, Safiya Nygaard tried out the trend in this YouTube video, as well as YouTuber, @sabrinaanijs. Sabrina actually showed us the brows, in an awesome tutorial video on YouTube, for all of us to enjoy!
Word of caution: It is recommended that if you try out this trend that you avoid foundation near the brows as it can mess up the attempt.
Below, We Have Featured Sabrina’s Quick Step-By-Step And YouTube tutorial!
All you need for this #featherbrows look is:
1) A Gluestick or Hair Gel
2) Eyebrow Comb or Spoolie Brush
It truly is a form of art.
You can find the full video tutorial on the Youtube Channel: Sabrina Anijs.
First, dip your comb or spoolie, in the glue or hair gel, whatever you prefer. Then take the sticky brush and brush the brows up and down, creating a seam (line) in the middle of the eyebrow.
