It has been way too long since we’ve seen the likes of Cady Herron, Regina George, or their infamous Burn Book: The classic chick-flick Mean Girls debuted 13 whole years ago!
Anyone craving more Mean Girls might finally have their wish granted. One company ran with the idea of bringing the character of the movie to life again. They are turning the Burn Book into a hilariously brilliant makeup palette.
Back in October of 2016, Glamour reported that the concept of the ‘Burn Book’ palette was in the works and to get ready for the following fall. But at that point, nothing was exactly official yet. That is, up until a few days ago, when Storybook Cosmetics shared a post on Instagram announcing: ‘On Wednesdays we wear Storybook Cosmetics. – Fall 2017.’
The Palette Colors Make So. Much. Sense.
Let’s get real; You could pretty much pull the question from the movie: ‘…Or Will We Look ‘Like…Really Pretty?’ Well, looks like there’s nothing to worry about here. There were reports that Storybook Cosmetic’s Instagram featured a post last year of an illustration of the possible names and look of the palette. But the post has since been deleted off of their page. However, Revelist found the deleted image and it’s giving us more of a feel for the ideas of the collaboration.
Glamour previously shared that the eyeshadow colors will be named off of the iconic movie quotes and references “(‘army pants’ green, ‘you can’t sit with us’ burnt orange and ‘flip-flops’ blue).”
If you do not recognize any of these references right now, you need to rewatch Mean Girls. After that, you may understand why Storybook Cosmetics’ idea is one of their many fan-inspired efforts that perfectly connect favorite movies and characters with real life.
Storybook Cosmetics Knows How To Appeal To Fans
The company was started by identical triplets Erin, Mandy and Missy Maynard who describe Storybook Cosmetics as: “Cosmetics and makeup brushes inspired by your favorite stories.”
You may have seen news about some famous movies that have turned into licensed collaborations, that the company has actually been working with. The collaborations would include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the Hunger Games. What a great success and recognition for the cosmetic company!
One of the founders of Storybook Cosmetics said on their about section: “We are really proud to offer a mix of both licensed collabs and products that are our own unique, original creations, inspired by all the magical stories we grew up with and loved.”
But having Mean Girls as a collaboration is huge because it’s more of a relatable story compared to those that are more fiction-based.
As for when it’s release date is, that is to be determined. But in the post, they said it would be in Fall 2017…Based off of the announcement, it better be a Wednesday. That would be so fetch!
