Have wacky eyebrow trends gone too far?
2017 was definitely a year of crazy eyebrow concepts, but 2018 might somehow top it. From the split brow, to the Nike brow, experimental brows were big on Instagram and with beauty bloggers. So far 2018 has given us fishtail brows and jeweled brows, but what if the next big thing completely defied the first conventional rule of eyebrows – that they should never touch?
Introducing “halo brows”, a look that’s either an angelic take on eyebrows or a strange, inverted unibrow – beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
The look is a result of connecting the tails of both eyebrows through the middle point of the forehead, so that the real eyebrow hair blends in seamlessly with eyebrow filler product.
“Halo brows” were coined by Hannah Lyne, a 16-year-old Instagram make up artist from Huddersfield, U.K. On March 3rd, Hannah posted the first of two photos sharing the new look on her @hannahdoesmakeupp beauty account.
According to Hannah, her and a friend were looking for a new makeup concept to try out, when it occurred to her that the tails of eyebrows could be connected.
She explained, “This look was influenced by fishtail brows; seeing the way my brow flicked upwards inspired the idea of just carrying the brow on until it met in the middle.”
To create the look, Lyne used NYX Professional Makeup Tame and Frame Brow Pomade in the color Espresso, to make it look like her eyebrow extends all the way up to her forehead.
We’re doubtful this look will be catching on anytime soon, but Lyne definitely gets points for major creativity!
